I have a Kenwood TS-2000 Transceiver and I would like to use a Yaesu MD-200A8X microphone with it. The TS-2000 requires an 8 pin connector and the Md-200A8X microphone has an 8 Pin connector but the pin configurations are not the same. Can the wiring on the mic be changed so that it will work with the TS-2000.
The pinout on the TS-2000 is as follows
Pin 1 is Mic
Pin 2 is PTT
Pin 3 is Down
Pin 4 is Up
Pin 5 is 8v (10 mA max)
Pin 6 is NC
Pin 7 is Gnd (Mic)
Pin 8 is Gnd (STBY)
The pinout on the MD-200A8X is as follows
Pin 1 is Up
Pin 2 is +5 V
Pin 3 is Down
Pin 4 is Fast
Pin 5 is F- Gnd
Pin 6 is PTT
Pin 7 is Mic- Gnd
Pin 8 is Mic
As you can see there are some pin names that don't match and the there is also a diffence in the voltages 8 vs. 5. Given this information, can anyone tell me if this mic and transceiver can be used together? If so, how do I wire up the connector on the mic?
Thanks in advance
Tom
