For Spring / Summer 6:00PM EDT should do the trick
While tuning through the shortwave bands on Sunday evening (11/25/07), we happened to find Radio Cairo (Egypt) broadcasting on 6250 kHz. This was at 5:00 PM EST (2200 UT) on the east coast US. The broadcast was in the English language and the announcer stated that they were broadcasting on a new frequency. It was announced as 2650 kHz several times but that must have been a mistake. It was clearly 6250 kHz on the SW dial. We will keep an ear out for this frequency and post updates...
Update: We tuned to this frequency for the past five days and yes, it is Radio Cairo. They announced that they are transmitting to Europe on 6250 kHz. This transmission can be heard on the U.S. east coast as well. _________________ buy high performance am sw radios |
